Our summer internships explored the nexus between people and the land, as well as our responsibilities to both.

Within various settings, our work challenged us to experience the importance of these connections through archaeology, environmental science, environmental justice and policy, and research into Indigenous relationships with land and food systems. Some of us looked to the past to understand the human beings who lived on the earth before us, while others examined present environmental concerns or considered how we might build more meaningful partnerships with the land as we forge ahead. Collectively, the knowledge, skills, and perspectives we gained will continue to shape our decisions as we are thrust into the future, ever choosing to remain committed to the health and well-being of our built environment while we advocate for both people and the land.
