Trans Rights & Policy Fights: World-Building in the Past, Present, and Future

Thursday, October 8th | 12:00-2:00PM
Location: Gender & Sexuality Center

In collaboration with the URI Women’s Center’s Spill the Tea Series and the URI Office of Equal Opportunity, we are pleased to welcome MG Xiong (they/them), MTPC’s Director of Engagement and Learning, who will lead this session. In this workshop, we explore the evolving landscape for transgender rights and policy advocacy in the United States in the past, present, and future. Together, we will learn about pivotal advocacy efforts that shape the visibility we know today, understand the gravity of current contexts attempting to disappear transgender people, and ideate on world-building for trans liberation. (Lunch Items will be included)
