Liz Ward produces large-scale mixed-media works on paper, as well as intimate drawings, wall-sized installations, and public art projects. Utilizing a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, cyanotype, and collage, Ward explores the meaning of landscape through layers of human, natural, and environmental history, memory, and experience. Still Becoming is a selected survey of works made during Ward’s decades-long tenure at Trinity University. Water, in its many forms, is a recurring theme, both as subject and symbol. Rivers, lakes, and pools evoke the passage of time, history, evolution, and memory; ideas of sustenance, purification, ritual, and our bodily experience of water and the landscape underscore our interconnectedness and rise to the surface throughout this body of work. This farewell exhibition honors Liz Ward on the cusp of her final semester at Trinity University as she approaches retirement and life beyond teaching. Exhibition dates: October 15 – December 19, 2026 Reception: October 15, 2026, 5-7pm Artist talk: October 16, 2026, 2pm
