September 29 – October 15
Public reception on Wednesday, September 30, 5-7PM
Join us on campus over the next few weeks to celebrate the work of Roma Publications. This special exhibition brings together every publication the press has produced to date, presented in chronological order. The Graphic Design program recognizes Roma as a leading voice in art book publishing, and the sensitivity and creativity that bring each press run to life are truly inspiring. Our community is excited to have this opportunity to gather around this practice. This offers us many opportunities for teaching and learning that we will take up through class visits and more informal engagements. We invite you to come to campus to spend time reading and handling the printed objects with us.

Roma Publications is an Amsterdam-based art book publisher and design studio, founded in 1998 by graphic designer Roger Willems, and artists Mark Manders and Marc Nagtzaam. It is used as a platform to produce and distribute autonomous publications made in close collaboration with a growing number of artists, institutions, writers and designers.
This exhibition presents the entire catalog of 524 publications. In parallel to the books there are also posters on display, and larger wall pieces by long-time Roma-collaborators Karel Martens and Batia Suter. The show also includes a new digital archive for Roma, built by Archival Consciousness. It lets you move through the collection in several ways: as a timeline, as a grid, and as a graph where objects, authors, artists, institutions, cities and years form the history of Roma in one network.
