Celebrating the 150th anniversary of choral music at Mount Holyoke, the Symphony Orchestra joins the historic Glee Club in Brahms's luminous Nänie, a meditation on beauty, loss, and the enduring power of art.
Framed by the festive Academic Festival Overture, the program culminates in Sibelius's Second Symphony—a stirring journey from quiet introspection to one of the most exhilarating triumphs in the orchestral repertoire.
