The 150 Project: A New Play Rooted in Student Stories

In celebration of CU Boulder’s 150th anniversary, the Department of Theatre & Dance partners with the acclaimed Tectonic Theatre Project, creators of The Laramie Project, to premiere a new work rooted in student voices. Working with Tectonic artist Jimmy Maize, CU Boulder students will delve into archives and interview students and alumni to uncover the historic, the quiet and the revolutionary moments that have shaped the identity of the university.

Developed through Tectonic’s signature “Moment Work” process, this devised production weaves together vivid scenes exploring identity, belonging and transformation across generations. Performed in the historic Old Main Chapel, The 150 Project is an evening of living history that shines a light on student voices.

The 150 Project is the 2026-27 Roe Green Production. The CU Boulder Department of Theatre & Dance is grateful to donor Roe Green. The Roe Green Visiting Theatre Artist fund makes it possible to invite professional guest artists to campus each year to collaborate with students.
