MOCA Free Movie Night: Smoke Signals (1998)

This is a FREE event. Registration is not required. The $5 voucher reserves your seat and can be used in exchange for 1 soft drink and 1 concession the night of the movie. Otherwise seating is first come first served.

Smoke Signals (1998) PG - 13

Arnold rescued Thomas from a fire when he was a child. Thomas thinks of Arnold as a hero, while Arnold's son Victor resents his father's alcoholism, violence and abandonment of his family. Uneasy rivals and friends, Thomas and Victor spend their days killing time on a Coeur d'Alene reservation in Idaho and arguing about their cultural identities. When Arnold dies, the duo set out on a cross-country journey to Phoenix to retrieve Arnold's ashes.

Settle into the MOCA Theater for free film screenings of movies with themes and ideas connected to the museum's exhibitions and current events. Enjoy beverages and concessions from the MOCA Bar and Setlan Coffee Co. The museum is open extended hours from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., so feel free to explore the galleries before or after the films.

This event takes place during Free Museum Nights @ MOCA, which features a variety of activities and programs. MOCA Free Movie Night recurs every third Wednesday.

Geared to an adult audience, but open to all ages. Viewer discretion is advised. Children are to be accompanied by an adult in the museum at all times.
