The UCSF Management of the Hospitalized Patient course, chaired by Bob Wachter, MD, is the longest-running and most popular CME course for hospitalists and others who care for hospitalized patients. Taught by UCSF’s top teachers, including Gurpreet Dhaliwal, S. Andrew Josephson, Lekshmi Santhosh, Tracy Minichiello, and Bradley Sharpe, the course highlights recent evidence and current controversies, and blends lectures with multiple interactive workshops to promote active learning. Content areas include critical care, perioperative care, hospital neurology, infectious diseases, cardiology, and nephrology, as well as AI, diagnostic reasoning, and management of the patient with substance use disorder. All of this at the beautiful Hyatt Embarcadero in the heart of San Francisco’s waterfront district.
This course is presented by the UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine and is sponsored by the Office of Continuing Medical Education, University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. It also serves as the West Coast regional meeting of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
