Misunderstood Monsters!

Ew! Yuck! AHHHHH!

These are common expressions used when interacting with many wildlife species. Spiders, snakes, sharks, vultures, bats, opossums, and so many other animals are often disliked and feared. Misunderstood Monsters, the PAROC October Science Saturday, hopes to change that mindset!

Learn about the wonderful world of underappreciated and commonly feared wildlife on October 31st, 2026 from 10am-12pm. This Halloween special will feature many interactive booths showcasing awesome facts about these various “monsters”. Anywhere from massive tarantulas to spooky shark specimens, there will be lots to see! Guests can also enjoy educational activities, crafts, a kids’ costume contest with prizes, free candy, and so much more!

Come dressed in costume! We can’t wait to see you there!
