Visual artist Yashua Klos, known for his innovative approach to collage and printmaking, presents a lecture on the artistic value of filtering life experience through creative practices. Klos will point out the very early experiences in his life, as well as recent life-changing events, that have fueled his imagery and output. His research through these experiences would materialize into his most ambitious work, a 40’ x 17’ collage of his family tree. This work was not only the anchor piece in his first solo museum exhibition, OUR LABOUR (2023), at the Wellin Museum of Art, but he has since used it as a vehicle around which to assemble family and ritual. Apart from the artist&8217;s role as storyteller, this lecture examines the value of creative collaboration and community. Klos will unveil the initial steps in forming the artist collective, thewarmthofmanysuns, as well as their first upcoming collaborative project.
