Healthy Kids Festival & Step Up for Kids 2026

Grow, Taste, Learn, Play! Join us in celebrating our combined Healthy Kids Festival & Step Up for Kids event, hosted alongside UNLV's Nevada Institute for Children's Research and Policy, where kids discover the fun side of healthy living! This FREE event is taking place on Saturday, September 26th from 11am -2pm at the Pearson Community Center. The festival focuses on the learning environment through interactive activities ranging from learning how food grows, tasting a healthy snack, and fun physical activity and nutrition games. This festival is a FREE family friendly event. Grow Station - Discover how rainbow carrots grow & how they are harvested Try Station - Taste a yummy rainbow carrot snack, featuring a UNR-created recipe Buy Station - Enjoy a free "farmer's market" where children can learn from local farmers where the produce comes from and “purchase” fresh fruits and vegetables to take home Physical Literacy Dances- Come to the stage and dance along to music! Visit the festival any time between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, September 26. Registration is encouraged but not required.
