My Name, My Story

Have you ever had your name mispronounced, shortened, or misunderstood? Ever wondered about the meaning, history, or story behind someone’s name? Join MOSAIC for an interactive cultural program exploring how names connect to family, language, culture, identity, and belonging. Together, we’ll examine the impacts of misnaming and the erasure of cultural identities on people. Through creative activities, personal reflection, and meaningful conversations, we’ll share our experiences, celebrate the stories that make our community unique, and show how respecting someone’s name supports dignity, inclusion, and social justice.
