Join the University of Oregon for the HSI Symposium: Building a Latinx-Thriving University, a two-day gathering bringing together students, faculty, staff, educators, community partners, and higher education leaders to explore how UO can strengthen support, deepen belonging, and expand opportunities for its growing Latiné student community.
As UO’s Latiné student population continues to grow, the symposium provides an opportunity to build on the programs, scholarship, student leadership, cultural initiatives, and community partnerships already shaping the university while considering what comes next. Together, participants will explore how UO can continue developing as a Latinx-thriving university and advance its work toward becoming a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
Thursday, October 22 will feature a keynote address, panels, and breakout sessions focused on topics including student success, research, institutional culture, and the evolving HSI landscape.
Friday, October 23 will move from conversation to collaboration through facilitated planning and work sessions. Participants will have opportunities to share their experiences, identify priorities, and contribute ideas that can help inform UO’s continued HSI work.
Students, prospective students and families, faculty, staff, educators, community organizations, alumni, and higher education partners are encouraged to participate. Attend one or both days, or all or part of either day.
