UNT Pre-PT Club General Body Meeting

During our meetings, we will be having speakers coming to talk to us about their personal experience in the physical therapy profession or opportunities that can help our members gain more experience in the medical field. Our goal is to give our members an idea about the different fields in physical therapy, and what areas may interest them. Furthermore, it gives them an inside perspective of the physical therapy profession and what they can expect.

August 25th: This will be our introduction meeting, where we will introduce our officers to our new members and explain what we do. We will also be discussing our agenda for the semester, and provide an icebreaker activity to let our members get to know each other.

September 8th: This will be with Toucan Abroad, a national study abroad program that can help students observe physical therapy on an international level. The speaker will be meeting with us via Zoom.

September 22nd: This will be with Camp John Marc, a medical camp hosted during the summers. It hosts different camps each week for children who suffer from specific diseases or conditions. It is a good organization that our members can volunteer with.

October 20th: This will be with an oncologist PT. She will explain her experience involved in providing physical therapy for patients suffering from cancer.

November 3rd: This will be with an in-patient PT, who will discuss her experience in working as a physical therapist in a hospital setting.

November 17th: This will be with a neurology PT, who will discuss her experience in working with patients who suffer neurological conditions such as vertigo, TBIs, and strokes.

December 1st: This will be our last meeting where we will have officer elections for next semester. We will also be presenting awards and recognizing members who have gone above and beyond this semester. We will also be giving graduation cords for graduating members.
