In a rare and exciting collaboration, the LSU Symphony Orchestra and the Turner-Fischer Center for Opera join forces to present a special semi-staged peformance of Of Thee I Sing. As part of the celebration of American's 250th anniversary, this groundbreaking musical by George and Ira Gershwin returns to the spotlight with all the brilliance that made it the first musical to receive the Pulitzer Prize.
WIth its irresistible score, sharp satire, and exuberant wit, Of Thee I Sing delights even as it lampoons the machinery of politics, ambition, and corruption. Proving its humor remains strikingly timely.
