Join the Bass School’s Graduate Student Speaker Series for a talk by Jahnavi Lanka, “The Inadequate Knowledge-Production Mechanisms of the Scientific Institution: A Focus on Autism Intervention.”

Lanka will critically examine how “theory of mind” research influences our understanding of autism and why autistic lived experiences should play a greater role in shaping research and intervention.

About the speaker
Jahnavi Lanka is a graduate student in applied cognition and neuroscience and philosophy. She is a researcher at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she studies autism and language in children. Her philosophical interests include philosophy of cognitive science, philosophy of medicine and critical phenomenology.
