Perhaps best known for coining the term “queer theory” at a conference in 1990, Teresa de Lauretis ought to be remembered for more than this moment: her numerous contributions to not only queer, but also feminist, and film studies merit further engagement. This event brings together leading scholars with a variety of backgrounds, methodologies, and research interests to think critically about otherness in de Lauretis’ work and their own.
