A coming-of-age drama directed by Cameron Crowe that follows a teenage aspiring journalist who is given the opportunity to tour with a rising rock band while writing for Rolling Stone in the 1970s. The film is especially valuable for students in journalism, mass communication, media studies, music industry studies, sociology, and history because it explores ethical reporting, celebrity culture, youth identity, and the relationship between the media and popular music.
All film screenings are free in E109. The 3:00 PM screening is sensory-friendly, with dim (not dark) lighting, reduced volume, and open captions. The 6:00 PM screening offers a full cinema experience, including free popcorn.
