Faith, Hope, and Poetry: An Evening of Poetry Reading and Conversation with Poet-Priest Malcolm Guite

All are welcome to join us for "Faith, Hope, and Poetry: An Evening of Poetry Reading and Conversation with Poet-Priest Malcolm Guite." This event will feature Guite reading from and reflecting on his poetry, followed by a conversation between Guite and ISM lecturer in religion and literature David Mahan, an audience Q&A session, and a book signing. This event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Miller Hall (406 Prospect St., New Haven, CT). Livestream link The talk is part of the Lana Schwebel Memorial Lecture series and the Literature and Spirituality series. The Schwebel Lecture was established in 2008 in memory of former faculty member Lana Schwebel, who died suddenly and tragically in July 2007. Contact: Katya Vetrov Speaker bio: Dr. Malcolm Guite is a poet and priest, and Life Fellow of Girton College, Cambridge. He lives in Norfolk, England, and lectures widely in England and North America on Theology and Literature. His books include Sounding the Seasons; Seventy Sonnets for the Christian Year (Canterbury Press 2012), The Singing Bowl; Collected Poems (Canterbury Press 2013) Parable and Paradox (Canterbury Press 2016), Mariner: A Voyage with Samuel Taylor Coleridge (Hodder 2017), After Prayer (Canterbury Press 2019), The Word Within the Words (DLT 2021) and Lifting the Veil, (Square Halo, 2021). In 2023 he was awarded the Archbishop Lanfranc Medal for Education and Scholarship by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Currently Malcolm is working on a three-volume series entitled Merlin's Isle: An Arthuriad, the re-telling of the tales of King Arthur.
