Join Professor Neelika Jayawardane's Diaspora and Visual Narratives class for a conversation with author and scriptwriter Kelly-Eve Koopman. Koopman will speak about her own writing on her and her family's relationship to the nation, as well as her process of moving to speculative writing and what speculative writing accomplishes that “realism" does not. Koopman will also offer a writing exercise as part of the conversation.
Koopman will speak with the class via Zoom; those wishing to participate in the conversation should join the class in Marano Campus Center, Room 210.
