CISLL Fall Kickoff

Dr. Diego Pascual y Cabo, a faculty member from the University of Florida, will be giving a Keynote speech over language brokering. Non-English-speaking families who immigrate to the United States often rely on their young children to help navigate their new linguistic needs. Children may be asked to bridge language gaps and serve as intermediaries in interactions. This common practice is generally referred to as language brokering. In this presentation, I explore the relationship between childhood language brokering in healthcare settings and trust in physicians later in life. Food will be provided.
