Join the Center for Middle Eastern Studies during UT Austin's International Education Week for a screening of The Time That Remains (2009), a tragicomedy from the acclaimed Palestinian director Elia Suleiman. Drawing on his father's actual diaries, letters his mother sent to relatives who had fled the Israeli occupation, and his own recollections, Suleiman recounts the creation of the Israeli state from 1948 to the present.

Professor Emily Drumsta will introduce the film and offer context and reflection for viewing.
