Join the UT Austin community in celebrating UT GIS Day 2026 on Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 1-4 p.m.! Events will be held on campus in the Perry-Castañeda Library (PCL) and our first session will also be streamed live online via Zoom.

GIS Day is an internationally acknowledged annual event held each November on the Wednesday of Geography Awareness week. It is a day dedicated to appreciating, discussing, and learning about geographic information systems, remote sensing, and geospatial research. Through our UT GIS Day events which are held each year on GIS Day, we hope to raise the profile of the innovative GIS work being carried out by the UT campus community.

Visit the UT GIS Day guide for full event details including information about how you get involved as a lightning talk presenter or contribute to the Student Map and Research Showcase.
