Arancha González: Europe in a Changing Global Landscape

Join Arancha González, Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) at Sciences Po and former Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and Jim Levinsohn, Charles W. Goodyear Professor of Global Affairs and dean of Yale Jackson, for a fireside chat on "Europe in a Changing Global Landscape." Lunch will be provided; registration required. Arancha González is the Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po and the first woman to lead the world's third-ranked school for politics and international studies. In 2024, she was elected President of APSIA, the association bringing together the world's leading schools of international affairs and diplomacy. Prior to joining PSIA, González served as Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (2020–2021). She previously served as Assistant-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (2013–2020), and as Chief of Staff to the Director-General of the World Trade Organization from 2005 to 2013. Earlier in her career, she held senior positions at the European Commission in international relations, trade, and development, having started her career as a lawyer in the private sector. A Spanish national, González holds a degree in law from the University of Navarra and a Master's in European Law from the University Carlos III of Madrid.
