Join us for an Indigenous Peoples Day celebration honoring four years of the Land Acknowledgment Courtyard and its vibrant new mural. Four years may not read as a milestone by Western counting, but in many Indigenous societies, four is one of the most sacred numbers.
The mural was designed by Haley Greenfeather English, an artist of Red Lake and Turtle Mountain Ojibwe heritage, and brought to life by Professor Carlos DonJuan and his UTA art students.
What to expect:
Remarks from Haley Greenfeather English about the mural and her workRecognition of Professor Carlos DonJuan and his studentsA guided tour of the Native plants in the CourtyardA hands-on art activityA reception with food
This event is free and open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Come for part of it or stay for all of it.
