Take a hike! Unplug, take a break, and enjoy some time in nature with the Stonewall Center and Women of Color Leadership Network (WOCLN.)
Ride the bus with us or meet at the beautiful Amethyst Brook trail for an easy-going hike. All are welcome -- including first-time hikers!
Getting There: Need a ride? The Amethyst Brook trail is a short walk away from a PVTA bus stop. A member of our staff will ride the bus with you and guide you to the trail.
Get on Route 30 Bus (to Old Belchertown Rd.) at the UMass ILC at 10:35 a.m.
Get off the bus at the Northeast St. bus stop (~20 min walk to the trail)
Getting Back: After the hike, return to campus by taking the Route 30 Bus (to North Amherst). Departures from the Northeast St. bus stop at 12:08 PM, 12:38 PM, and 1:08 PM
About the Trail: At Amethyst Brook, we will walk a 1.1 mile beginner-friendly loop. The trail has gentle elevation and takes most people approximately 45-60 minutes to complete at a relaxed pace. It features several wooden footbridges over the brook, benches throughout to pause and rest, and a hidden stone labyrinth.
