What if your emotions, memories, and everyday experiences could become monsters?
Join cartoonist and comics creator Angela Oddling (Angela Hindes) for a playful visual storytelling workshop that explores how those elements can become imaginative characters and stories. Through collage, artmaking, and reflective prompts, you'll experiment with color, texture, shape, and storytelling to create a monster inspired by your own life.
Leave with your own unique monster character and new approaches for transforming personal experiences and sensations into fictional worlds and stories. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute your monster to the ongoing collaborative community art project, The Encyclopedia of Monsters.
No drawing or art experience is needed! Whether you’re a seasoned artist, a comics fan, a curious beginner, or just looking for a different way to think about your experiences, this workshop is a chance to make, reflect, and connect with others (and yourself).
Facilitated by Angela Hindes, Center for Creativity. Image from The Encyclopedia of Monsters (cover).
