School of Music Black History Month Concert

The Georgia State University School of Music presents its annual Black History Month Concert, a celebration of the artistry, innovation and enduring legacy of Black musicians across genres and generations. The program draws on a rich musical lineage — from spirituals and gospel to jazz, art song and contemporary concert works — honoring the composers and performers whose voices have shaped the American musical landscape.

Featuring students and faculty from across the School of Music, this concert brings together ensembles and soloists for a morning of music, reflection and shared celebration. Audiences are invited to join us in the Rialto Center for the Arts Theater for a performance that recognizes both the history and the continuing vitality of Black musical traditions.
