“Sabbath Queen” Film Screening and Q&A

Filmed over 21 years, Sabbath Queen follows Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie's journey as the heir of 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis, including the Chief Rabbis of Israel, and his path to becoming a drag-queen rebel, queer bio-dad, and founder of the experimental congregation Lab/Shul. The film explores Jewish survival, identity, and interfaith love in the 21st century. Director Sandi DuBowski (Sabbath Queen, Trembling Before G-D) will join for a Q&A alongside Brett Krutzsch of NYU's Center for Religion and Media.
