UGA Theatre: Men on Boats

Men on Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus is a witty, fast-moving adventure that reexamines the 1869 expedition down the Colorado River with humor, swagger, and a fresh perspective. As a determined band of explorers ventures into the uncharted American West, egos flare, plans unravel, and the myth of the fearless frontier “man” begins to crack open in surprising ways, celebrating and satirizing the legends embedded in American history. Exuberant, daring, and wildly entertaining, Men on Boats turns an epic expedition into a joyful and unexpected theatrical ride down the river.
