On October 8th, 2026, the UMass Amherst Ombuds Office invites the university community to celebrate Ombuds Day, an international holiday in which people raise awareness of Ombuds Offices and the contributions of Ombuds Offices to their organizations and communities.
The Ombuds Office will host an informational table from 10am–1pm outside of the Student Union (weather permitting—or inside the Student Union if raining). All are welcome to stop by to meet the ombuds team, learn how the Ombuds Office supports the UMass community, and explore resources for navigating university-related conflicts and concerns. Anyone curious about what an ombudsperson does or who wants to learn how to set up a confidential appointment are invited.
More information about the Ombuds Office can be found at umass.edu/ombuds.
