Hosted by the Humanities Center and featuring visiting fellow, Jessica Dore.
Jessica Dore, author of Tarot for Change: Using the Cards for Self-Care, Acceptance and Growth (Penguin Life, 2021) will briefly introduce the major arcana of the tarot as "a school in the art of learning,” following the author of the anonymously and posthumously published Meditations on the Tarot. Then, we will look together at the arcanum that is numbered zero: The Fool. Participants will be invited to share their initial impressions of the card before a brief talk followed by a second round of participant shares. Considering tarot reader Selah Saterstrom's notion of arcana as archives, participants will be invited to share relevant poems, essays, articles, books, and other artworks towards the compilation of a Fool archive.
This event will be in person in CL 602.
