The LMU Art Program is proud to present work by new LMU Art Faculty member Erin Tucker. Her studio work explores and visualizes personal experiences, identity, memory and humanity through clothing and domestic objects. She fetishizes labor, the ordinary, and wear and tear. She hopes to connect the viewer to themselves in her works by giving them space in her quiet constructions to remember and to reflect.
The LMU Center for the Arts houses the Art Program at LMU and is nestled in the historic town of Cumberland Gap, TN. The Art Program and the Gallery at the LMU Arts Center strives to bring cutting edge contemporary art from local and regional artists to the LMU community. We aim to foster conversation about the place of visual arts and how they impact the diverse community of Appalachia in the 21st Century. The LMU Center for the Arts is located at 703 Brooklyn St. in Cumberland Gap and is open Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, and by appointment. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
For further questions or comments about the exhibition or the gallery, please contact the LMU Art Program Director, Michael Giles, at [email protected].
