The Henry Mancini Institute Big Band presents an evening celebrating the timeless music of Henry Mancini through a fresh lens, featuring new arrangements crafted by members of the Studio Jazz Writing program. This concert reimagines Mancini’s iconic melodies with contemporary jazz voices, highlighting the creativity and individuality of emerging composers and arrangers. Each piece reflects a deep respect for Mancini’s legacy while exploring new harmonic colors, textures, and rhythmic approaches for the modern big band. The result is a vibrant program that bridges classic cinematic jazz with the evolving language of today’s writers and performers.
