Alice R. Branicio and Alyssa C. Antig: SuperFormal Memoria

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 22, 5–7pm

ARTIST STATEMENT:

SuperFormal Memoria is a reflection of modes of memorialisation on public spaces. How do institutions, like the one we attend right now, use visuals, icons, and motifs to guide thinking around society and culture? Are we as students active participants in the traditions created? Are we complicit in community-think and propaganda? How do we move through a world and system built inherently against the ideals we stand on today? This exhibition hopes to explore these ideas with works interested on the history of USC’s campus and history. The complex history behind the campus plays a vital role in shaping how both artists explore identity and community through their art.

Exhibition on view: October 23–November 10, 2026

Gallery hours: Mon–Fri, 9am–4:30pm, by appointment
