The Dr. Grier Williams School of Music and UWF Gulf Coast Culture Series presents Songs of Revolution & Rebellion, a USO-style variety show that takes audiences on a musical journey through revolution, rebellion, war, peace, patriotism and protest on Thursday, October 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce.

From the American Revolution and Civil War through the World Wars and beyond, faculty, students and guest performers bring history to life through songs, letters, stories and humor. The program pairs music from different eras with reflections on the people who fought, served, sacrificed and challenged the nation to live up to its ideals—from Abigail Adams' call to "remember the ladies" to soldiers' letters home, wartime songs of hope and later voices of change.

Part of the Songs of Revolution & Rebellion: A USO-Style Variety Show explores a recurring American story: Every generation inherits a nation still in progress, and has a role in determining what comes next.

Inspired by the tradition of USO entertainment, the show also pays tribute to Pensacola's deep connection to the U.S. military and its identity as the Cradle of Naval Aviation. The evening concludes with a special recognition of active-duty service members, veterans and military families.

Featured performers include: Corey McKern-Baritone, April Kocher-Soprano, Sheila Dunn-Soprano, Dylan Fischer-Baritone, Coda Lee Owens-Baritone, Ethan Middleton-Baritone, Blake Riley-Collaborative Pianist, Rachel Bettis-Flute, The Blue Anchor Belles.

Seating is limited. Registration is recommended.

This event is presented by the UWF College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities Gulf Coast Culture Series, The Dr. Grier Williams School of Music, and is sponsored in part by the John C. Pace Symposium Series.
