Isidro Betancourt Benítez, musicologist

This unique event pairs a compelling historical narrative on the brilliant, often-overlooked Afro-Cuban classical composer Lico Jiménez, with live performances of his passionate art songs and intricate piano works guided by an expert musicologist.

This event is co-sponsored by the Amigos of the Cuban Heritage Collection, The Zambrana Music Foundation, the Frost School of Music and its Department of Musicology.
