Loyola University Chicago's Community Coalition on Gender-Based Violence (CCGBV) is a team of faculty, staff, and students devoted to creating a campus free of gender-based violence while empowering survivors. The responsibility of the Coalition is to promote consistent messaging around norms and resources, ensure University policies and procedures reflect current best practices and legislation, and support campus-wide programs and initiatives.
Each semester, the CCGBV hosts one "open community meeting" where all Loyola students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend. Open meetings offer an opportunity for the Loyola community to stay informed about recent developments related to gender-based violence, hear from subject matter experts on relevant and timely topics, and offer comments and questions to support a safe and inclusive campus, free from sexual and gender-based misconduct.
This Fall 2026 open meeting will feature discussion of the "Cornell Seven" case and its implications for Loyola, society, and the national discourse about sexual violence in higher education.
