We're excited to welcome Dr. Julian Merten, Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, to San José State University.
His career started far from cars. After a PhD in astrophysics at Heidelberg, he spent four years at Caltech and NASA JPL and taught at Oxford. He then built a Data Science team at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart before moving to Silicon Valley, where he now helps shape the company's AI strategy.
In his talk, he'll share what a career in the automotive industry looks like, what it's like to move between Germany and the US, and where vehicle AI is headed. Bring your questions and make connections!
