SUNY Geneseo is pleased to announce the launch of Talks That Matter, a new campus-wide initiative inspired by the accessibility and intellectual energy of TED Talks, while remaining sufficiently distinct in purpose, scope, and audience to establish its own identity. Supported by the Office of the Provost, Talks That Matter will feature one talk each semester—on the first Thursday of November and the first Thursday of April—beginning at 7:00 p.m.

The inaugural talk will be delivered by the initiative’s founder and coordinator, Dr. Kodjo Adabra, Professor of Francophone Studies, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Milne Library Multipurpose Room B (Milne 129). His talk is titled “Beyond the Single Story: Thinking Critically About Human Existence.”
