UVM Libraries and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences present: Two Intercultural Excellence Book Discussions – “I'm Able: A Woman's Advice for Disability Change Agents”, by Sefakor G.M.A. Komabu-Pomeyie
Join us for discussions with the author on the foundational themes of leading through adversity, shifting personal perceptions to challenge social stigmas, and advocating for change in a world that constructs social and structural barriers for those with disabilities.
“I’m Able: A Woman’s Advice for Disability Change Agents” is a deeply personal memoir that navigates Sefakor’s childhood experiences and the obstacles she faced getting an education with a disability, and how it all shaped her path towards policy and advocacy. Sefakor is the Director of Intercultural Excellence and a Lecturer in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at UVM.
A limited number of copies of the book are available to borrow from the library, but there is no reading requirement to attend the discussion.
Contact librarian Kate Bright at [email protected] to RSVP and inquire about obtaining a book, or simply show up. Light refreshments will be provided.
