The LMU Art Program is proud to present new work by Virginia based artist Hannah Rivers. She is a graduate of LMU's Art Program and Graduate School. In this exhibition she is presenting new works made over the last year. Her work is rooted in her upbringing in the Rose Hill area and takes her experiences as an Appalachian artist and presents them to the world. Her work, starkly colorful and emotional, combines the contemporary experience of being a young woman in the 21st century.

The LMU Center for the Arts houses the Art Program at LMU and is nestled in the historic town of Cumberland Gap, TN. The Art Program and the Gallery at the LMU Arts Center strives to bring cutting edge contemporary art from local and regional artists to the LMU community. We aim to foster conversation about the place of visual arts and how they impact the diverse community of Appalachia in the 21st Century. The LMU Center for the Arts is located at 703 Brooklyn St. in Cumberland Gap and is open Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, and by appointment. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

For further questions or comments about the exhibition or the gallery, please contact the LMU Art Program Director, Michael Giles, at [email protected].
