Project Dastaan is an award-winning peacebuilding initiative that uses oral histories, animation and virtual reality to preserve the personal stories of those who experienced the 1947 Partition of British India and reconnect survivors with places left behind. By centering the experiences of those whose lives were transformed by displacement, the initiative explores how storytelling can bridge borders, generations and communities.

Join us for a compelling conversation with Project Dastaan co-founders, award-winning filmmaker Sparsh Ahuja and journalist and artist Saadia Gardezi, as they discuss the origins of the project, the power of immersive storytelling and their efforts to transform memories of loss and separation into opportunities for dialogue, empathy and reconciliation.

This event is presented as part of the programming for the exhibition Project Dastaan, currently on view in the Green School Gallery (SIPA I, Room 110).
