2026-2027 Provost Lecture Series, “Magnificent Humanity” builds upon our Class of 2030 Common Read, inspired by the May 2026 papal encyclical “Magnifica Humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence.” Our faculty presenters include:

Elizabeth Petrino, Professor of English: “When Science and Ethics Collide: Reading Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in the Age of AI”

Julie Berrett-Abebe, Associate Professor of Social Work: “The Power of the Human Presence”
