Guest Artist Recital: The American Piano Duo - Jeffrey Shumway and Del Parkinson

Date: Friday, October 30, 2026
Time: 7:30 PM

Vive la France!
Step into the colorful and imaginative world of French music with the American Piano Duo—Jeffrey Shumway and Del Parkinson—in a program showcasing some of France’s most captivating works for two pianos.

The program journeys from the ghostly revelry of Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre and the magical mayhem of Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, to Milhaud’s irrepressible Scaramouche. The evening culminates with two iconic works by Maurice Ravel: the hypnotic Boléro, building inexorably from its famous opening rhythm, and the exhilarating whirlwind of La valse.

With two pianos, four hands, and music that ranges from the playful to the spectacular, Vive la France! promises a memorable celebration of French music at its most imaginative and exhilarating!
