As we get closer to Indigenous Peoples' Day on October 12th, Prism is thrilled to invite you into our space for a Queer & Indigenous event on October 15th from 5:00 - 6:30pm! We will be hosting Kafej Campbell who is a member of the Kaingang tribe of southeastern Brazil, a UVM Alum, a former UVM staff member, the current Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Howard Center, and a beloved member of our local community!
Kafej will be joining us in Student Lounge A to share stories of their Tribe and their own journey of finding their way into their Tribe. The Kaingang Tribe is known as the Tribe of Harmonious Dualisms where there exists both the Sun (Kamé) and the Moon (Kairu). Along with their amazing storytelling, Kafej will be guiding us through an activity where we can discover if we are part of the Sun people or the Moon people.
We hope that you will join us for this one-of-a-kind conversation!
