Accelerating wave propagation modeling using Physics-Informed Neural Networks

Abstract:

This talk discusses the use of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to accelerate multiphysics wave propagation modeling. The focus is on replacing computationally expensive forward simulations with physics-guided surrogate models that preserve the essential behavior of coupled media. Preliminary examples from acoustic-elastic and elastic-poroelastic settings illustrate the feasibility of this approach for coupled forward wave propagation problems.
