Research on academic writing suggests that making writing a regular, scheduled practice—rather than relying on occasional marathon writing sessions—can help writers make steady progress and increase productivity. Weekly writing groups that provide protected writing time can also foster accountability, camaraderie, and a stronger sense of research community.

The goal of these sessions is to help you put that research into practice by devoting a few focused hours to your writing each week. You’ll have dedicated time and space to build a sustainable writing habit, work independently alongside fellow graduate students, and track your progress regularly.
