Loubna Mrie is a Syrian journalist and author whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Nation, and The London Review of Books. Her debut book, Defiance: A Memoir of Awakening, Rebellion, and Survival in Syria, is a finalist for the 2026 Kirkus Prize in Nonfiction. Join her for a conversation about the relationship between personal memory and political history and what it means to keep documenting a story when the world seems to have moved on.
