In recent years, beadwork and quillwork have seen a resurgence in the Haudenosaunee community.

Chief Jamie Jacobs (Tonawanda Seneca Nation, Turtle Clan) will describe this history and his research in museum collections, as well as how this work shapes his artistic practice.

This talk is coordinated with the Longyear Museum of Anthropology's latest exhibition Deyothwadáhseh: Return and Renewal.

After the talk, Chief Jacobs will be available in the Longyear Gallery to discuss his two works on display, including a new quilled pouch commissioned for the exhibition and the museum's permanent collection.
